HOW YOU BUY OOFILE

OOFILE is sold as full source code on a royalty-free basis per programmer seat, which matches the c-tree royalty rules. This includes delivery of both single and multi-user products (multi-user using file locking).

Version 1.3 will add support for the c-tree Plus client-server mode, which is sold on a per-server basis. Server prices listed at the end of this document.

OOFILE Professional $1,200

The OODBMS that features replaceable backends, currently including Faircom's c-tree Plus, dBase III+ and IV compatible and RAM-based backends. OOFILE is cross-platform on Macintosh, Windows and Unix. OOFILE speaks the same c++ you do, avoiding "culture shock" by having database operations use normal c++ syntax. No special preprocessor or user-written streaming methods are required. Full source code is included, with a 1-year subscription. OOFILE bundles c-tree Plus, but existing c-tree owners can purchase OOFILE alone for $550. Version 6.5 onwards is required.

OOFILE Professional Platform Bundle $1,495

Combines the OOFILE Professional database with our graphing, report-writer and framework integration toolkits to give a total developer solution. Price includes 1-year subscription.

OOFILE c-tree Starter Kit $900

For $5 more than the c-tree retail price, you get the OOFILE core database bundled with c-tree. Your starter bundle price is fully credited against any full subscriptions you then take out. A starter-kit must be upgraded to a full OOFILE Professional to purchase any of the GUI products(eg: OOFRep).

Starter kits receive one major version and subsequent minor upgrades.

Personal OOFILE (dBase-compatible) $99

Full source code version of the programmer-friendly OOFILE c++ database framework, providing storage in persistent RAM-based and dBase III+ compatible files. Upgrade to the c-tree OOFILE for the price difference, and change just one line of code! Price includes 1-year subscription, academic pricing available. This is a cross-platform copy, also running on Windows and Unix with no further licensing. Included in OOFILE Professional.

OOFGraph $200

C++ source code 2D graphing framework plus PowerPlant and MFC wrappers. Includes flexible text handling and GIF output for Web publishing. Includes RAM-based version of OOFILE database. Price includes 1-year subscription and discounted upgrade to 3D version. Included in full OOFILE Platform Bundle. This is a cross-platform Mac and Windows product.

OOFRep Report Writer $500

This is a full embedded report-writer, allowing you to preview page-by-page and either print or save as plain text, HTML or RTF. Multiple levels of breaks, database views and headers and footers are provided using a clean object-oriented design. Includes RAM-based version of OOFILE database. Included in full OOFILE Platform Bundle. Price includes 1-year subscription. Saving to file without preview or printing is cross-platform - run on your Mac/Win/Unix server and create Web pages. Windows version available.

PowerPlant OOFILE Kit $200

As generated by AppMaker, this class library hooks your OOFILE database to PowerPlant dialogs, lists and editing classes. Included in full OOFILE Platform Bundle.
Price includes 1-year subscription.
